Re: AK multiway, scary board, best line?
[ QUOTE ]
The more I thought about this hand, I like 3 betting the flop better primarily to help define the hand better. I don't like the spot we're in, but given the pot size and the chance we're ahead we can't fold yet (but its close given utg's likely range). I'd invest a full bet here (by 3 betting) on the flop and fold to a spade or aggression on the turn. I think this would allow us to get out cheaper when we can safely determine we're beat (assuming we know utg well enough). [/ QUOTE ] I don't think it was a monotone board. I'm fairly sure it was A98 2 spades 1 club (or 2 clubs 1 spade) b/c I remember thinking to myself "no spade no spade no spade". The only hand I was afraid of Rob having was AA. |

Gees, that makes a big difference if the board was all spades or just two spades. No wonder everyone's advice was sounding crazy to me...

Re: AK multiway, scary board, best line?
Rob, Against certain people you "trust" (part of that trust is knowing they 4-bet AK pre) I think 3-betting the flop is better than calling and raising the turn. You can then release the turn safely if he cr's again.

Well if this was really a monotone board, then I would fold to the check-raise on the flop. If only 2 spades, what you say makes sense.
