[ QUOTE ] You know you suck when you're favorite team's fan's only excitement is when you are possibly playing spoiler. [/ QUOTE ] yeah, the worst part of this whole thing is going to be when they roll over for the Yankees this weekend and lose all 4. [/ QUOTE ] mortal lock |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
don't forget the yanks hold the tie-break for the division, so you can almost consider them tied in the loss column

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Please dump on me if I'm out to lunch, but seeing as it is pretty mch a given that the Yanks and Sox will both make the playoffs, does it really matter if the sox lose 1st place.
What I mean, is that if they struggle down the stretch and the Yankees beat them buy a game (versus the sox haningon by a game), won't the fact that Yankees are the overwhelming favourites, gods of the universe, blah, blah actually help the sox and hurt the Yankees. I mean everyone is damn near crowing the Yankees World series champs.. Can't the Red Sox play on that? |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I make this post about three or four times a year. The latest was two weeks ago: [ QUOTE ] Every time I watch these Jays, I wonder how they're not a .600 club. They got bats, starters, relievers...and they struggle to stay above .500 No wonder Hinske lost his mind up there. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Honestly this year, it was 1) injuries (tons, and wells has been playing hurt and is getting surgery) 2) terrible with runners in scoring position and 2 outs 3) brutal team speed which means we can't play small ball Next year we should challenge the whole year [/ QUOTE ] by small ball you mean stupid ball right? that's pretty much a good thing... small ball "play" generally hurts teams [/ QUOTE ] I feel like I need to post this in every thread the Jays are mentioned. THEY ARE NOT DOING WELL BECAUSE THE TWO BEST TEAMS IN BASEBALL ARE IN THE SAME DIVISION. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
not winning the AL east after being up seven thousand games at the ASB is pretty ridiculous but it's not like it matters.

THEY ARE NOT DOING WELL BECAUSE THE TWO BEST TEAMS IN BASEBALL ARE IN THE SAME DIVISION. [/ QUOTE ] They're 6-8 vs. BOS and 8-9 vs. NYY. From what I've watched of the Jays (and I get to see a lot of them in Canada) , they've had zero timely hitting (i.e. RISP), abysmal hitting all year long from the meat of their lineup, have failed to beat up on sub-.500 teams, and can't win on the road. Add to that the injuries they've sustained and it makes them look a lot worse than they are. |
