KK in the CO
Live 4/8 game.
I've only recently sat down at the table, and at this point the villain seemed to be fairly competent and aggressive. 2 limpers to villain who raises in MP. I look down at two black Kings and 3bet in the CO. folded to villain who caps it. HU going to the flop. Flop is Qc 8h 6c Checked to villain who bets. Although I've only been at this table for maybe 45 minutes, my first instinct was to put villain on a capping range of QQ-AA, and MAYBE AK. Plan for the hand? wa/wb? Raise the flop? |

Re: KK in the CO
Heads up against an aggressive opponent, I have no problem calling down and betting if checked to.

Re: KK in the CO
I would raise the flop. Villain can easily have JJ, TT, AK, or AQ. If villain 3-bets the flop, I'd call down - maybe fold if an Ace hits on the turn and villain keeps betting.

call flop raise turn, if reraised on turn consider folding [/ QUOTE ] This is a really bad idea. I basically have to fold to this turn raise and don't even get to show down the hand (with villain still possibly holding AQ). If I'm putting in a raise anywhere, it's on the flop. |

Re: KK in the CO
Online, I am putting in some bets on the flop, but live....I don't mind calling, and betting when checked to (considering the capping range you give him--which is not crazy tight for a live 4/8 game in my experience). If his range is AA-QQ and AK, then we are ahead of 8 combos (he has 3 outs), and behind 9 combos (where we have 2 outs). If he was getting frisky with a smaller pair preflop, then the passive line will often make the most.
