pahud is essential if you are a heavy multitabler.

I don't think it's any secret, but I don't play unless I'm 100% focused on poker.

This results in very low volume and very good results.

i either play on my laptop in the living room, being distracted by television and roommates ("are you playing poker right now? for money? are you winning?")...

or in my room, with my full-size kb, mouse, and second monitor attached and my pandora station playing in the background.

i'll IM if friends are sweating me, and i'll read 2+2 if i'm 1- or 2-tabling. 4 to 8 tabling? it's all poker, baby.

my results are best when i'm 4-tabling in my room over an entire afternoon/evening. i tend to hit my stride after an hour or two.

I also find that the more tired I am, the less focused and crappier I play. I also tend to get cranky and tilt when I'm tired. So I should probably avoid playing when I'm tired

NO WAY MAN!!!11!!!

I really wonder why anyone would not use a HUD when multitabling - is there a reason not to?

I know quite a few full timers who don't use PT or PaHud. They are MTT only guys and can't be convinced to use it.

I have two primary modes for playing poker.

1. On the sofa while the wife watches TV or reads

I have a tablet PC. It's a Lenovo X61t that I bought a few months ago. It is awesome for playing poker. Since I usually play only 2-3 tourneys at a time I can sit downstairs with the tablet, and just press buttons. It is much more efficient than a mouse or a touchpad if you are only playing a few tables.

2. Moving upstairs to the office when she goes to sleep

I connect the tablet to a 22-inch LCD which can handle a bunch of tables. Once again, since I usually play 2-3 this is more than enough. If I go deep and focus on one table full screen kicks ass on a huge monitor. If i need to run downstairs for a drink or whatever I can simply undock the tablet and use it as a slate and just press buttons. Immensely helpful if I have to carry things around or just do general house stuff.

I also have an 8-button mouse that is customized in conjunction with an Auto-hotkey script to do all the actions I need. Right-click is fold, utility button A is call, scroll wheel raises. Makes playing much faster when I am in front of the monitor.

Of course I use HUD as well.

I can't imagine not using PokerAce when playing cash games, but in mtts things are changing so much that I prefer just to pay minimal attention instead. When playing mtts I am stuck playing only on PS at the moment (studying abroad=dorm has weird proxy internet I can only get stars to work with) so I tend to play two mtts and watch a movie.

I have a full time job so my poker does not start until 7:00 pm local (Houston) time. I play the 25k guaranteed on Stars and the 24K guaranteed on FTP and then play the 7:30 pm Bodog Guaranteed. I will also play the 10R sat to the Sunday Warmup and Million so the most tables I am playing at at time is 5.

I do not us pokertraker or HUD except for on Sunday's.

I guess I am pretty much on autopilot until I get deep. My wife is usually watching TV on the couch and I am talking with her and reading 2+2.

I will be an hour or an hour and a half into a tournament and I will look down and I will have doubled my starting stack and I cannot remember a specific hand that I have played.

I really start to focus once the money bubble nears and I have no propblem concentrating after that.
