Villian is unknown and i just sat down. How should i have played this hand? And call or fold river?

Bet more on flop, check turn.

As played I would fold river.

His line is weird but it screams flush or 2pair something like that.

Definitely feels like he's slow playing a big hand with his min-CR and his value bet on the river.

Would 3betting the turn be correct? If he 4bets than it's an easy fold?

No, 3 betting turn is not correct. We'd also likely be pot committed to call a shove if we 3 bet any more than min.

I would pot flop (I nearly always do that anyway) the flop and then check the turn (and call up to pot on any river).

As played... Don't pay off an unknown here, they have you beat nearly always.
