OK, perhaps I am overreacting because I get pissed off when I get erroneous $80 charges on my bank statement, but those of you insinuating I am an idiot eat a dick- I didn't sign up for it.

I signed up for a 30 day free trail of amazon prime. After the 30 day period ended I was charged $79 for a one year subscription. I looked at my account on amazon and found that the "automatically renew subscription" button is checked by default. I hadn't ordered anything since my 30-day trial period ended to I emailed them. They replied the next day saying that because I hadn't taken advantage of the free shipping since my trial ended, I could be refunded. The $79 was credited into my bank account (I use a debit card on amazon) about 2 days later.

A value judgment, worthless to you if you rarely shop there. But to me, this actually makes it worth shopping there frequently. Their regular shipping service has gone downhill and can take weeks for the free shipping -- and then sometimes you find out they were out of stock or won't be getting the item. Now, boom, I get stuff fast!
