Wow I really think when people think about Supernova Elite they really don't think how valuable getting it is.

They immediately think about the two $10k buyins but its just huge to have 5x the FPPs.

By the way are they going to totally redo what cars they offer in 2008?

Any word on that? is the Porsche going to be removed?

I've heard the Aston Martin will be gone, don't know about the Porsche.


Couldn't you use the concierge and get whatever car you wanted?

I guess so...I have around 700k FPPs right now...I guess I was shooting for the Porsche.

I guess I'll work my way up to 2 million and then re-evaluate.

I guess this isn't an appropriate forum but what baller car can I get for that amount of FPPs?

Probably nothing cool like a Porsche.

fgators - agree. the bigger reason I would like to get this are for the 5x points.
Getting 1.5 more FPP's for the next year is a pretty big deal imo.

However, it should be noted that you only get the 5x points for the first 6 months of the year and only if you get 50k VPP's/mth for 5 of those 6 mths.
After June 30 you will not be getting the 5x points anymore until you make it to elite again.

Anyway, the 3 tourneys you get are a close 2nd in incentive for me.
FWIW - you get 2 major land-based tourneys PLUS a WCOOP Main-Event entry which is worth $2600. Some people are kind of forgetting the WCOOP entry I think.

The Aston Martin has a available till date of Dec 31 but the Porsche doesn't so I assume only the Aston Martin will be removed.

I e-mailed VIP services about using concierge to buy a car. I already have a Porsche and would like something different. I was told that I'd have to ask after October as the Concierge service was going to be reviewed then.

I also think that you get a better deal buying the car. 3M points is about $48k and while I'm not certain what the base price of that model of Porsche is I think it is greater then $48k

I think you are getting closer to 2 cents per FPP for the car purchases in general.
But you get to pay taxes on it too so it isn't exactly an incredible deal imo.

Interesting to see if the concierge stuff changes after Oct.

At 610K VPP right now. Though it will require a considerable time commitment, I have to commit to getting to SNE. The 5x FPP is a huge deal. It would be a shame to end up with 900K or so and waste all that equity. See you all at the tables.... often.

wow this is ridic, you don't get to keep elite after 6 months. That just seems silly after making so much money for stars getting to that point.

Cutting it close might have to move up if you can to get there without blowing urself out.

Also i was really thinking of getting there next year but now that i've read that and looked it over. Its just not going to be worth the time at my limit since there is no way i can make 1million vpp the following year in the alloted 6 months time at my limit of play.

yeah, I think it sucks too and Stars should reconsider.

After killing yourself to get to Elite, for many killing yourself more at the END of the year, you still have to keep cranking pretty hard during the first 6 months of the following year to take full advantage of it.

If you think you can keep cranking and maybe get 600k or 700k of your points towards elite in the first 6 mths of 2008 then I guess it could be worth it.

And if you think you're going to be close to 1 million by June 30 then it doesn't effect you at all. But this will not be many players.

For all practical purposes for most people it's pretty much like Stars is saying, "get elite and you get 5x bonus...but ONLY for a 6 mth period... and maybe again by December."
