I think it's going to be interesting for any of the high stakes players who are aware of this to try to go back to AP, no matter how juicy the games are. Every time someone snaps off an improbable bluff, or a new person runs hot playing LAG, or someone value bets 2nd pair on the river, or some donkey open folds when you have AA, etc. etc. -- it's going to be in the back of your mind. That has to affect your game.

Ugh... think about the effect on the fish.

This is the response I got from AP:
Dear XXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting us.

Yes we are aware of all this posts, we always try to be aware of what
our customers, think of our service and if they enjoy playing with us.
That’s why we are always checking into all of the concerns that our
players have and we have taken actions already in this case, because of
our company policies we cant let you know what those actions are, but we
can let you know, that it wasn’t any type of hacking, it was just someone who didn’t know how to play poker and a hole lot of luck.

If there is anything else we can assist you with please let us know.

Sincerely,

Jose

This is insulting to say the least. Those dirty mother [censored] screwed me over. I'm leaving the site, and suggest that everyone else do so too. All they had to do was return what those cheaters took from me (which I'd pay back in rake in about 40 days anyway). I will be laughing next time something like this happens at AP, which it probably will considering their incompetence, and then AP denies it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah.. and they're contradicting each other in the security department too. I'm with you, that [censored] is really offending to say the least!

AP could re-allocate all the tainted money, issue a formal apology and a personal apology to all players affected, offer all players affected an additional apologetic offer of say 90% rakeback for the next 3-months and pray they're still in business by then.

If they're gonna be [censored] up the ass almost any way the cookie crumbles this is pretty much the only way they have a chance - take this as an opportunity to tidy up their act and invest their last dimes into that. Although investing less money than that to cover this whole mess up is what's most likely going to happen and the best short-term business plan, I see this as a chance for them to re-model themselves as a site and organisation.

I'm definitely done with Absolute Poker now too. I had my account hacked a couple of months ago and although I didn't lose too much money (less than $1k) they handled the situation very poorly.

Now this whole thing comes up and I realize just how oblivious they really are.I called absolute and the only thing the lady would tell me was, "Don't not worry about it, sir." This put me on absolute life tilt, since then I've talked to a couple of people a little more competent, but they still don't understand the severity of the issue.

I'm going to continue to call everyday until this is settled and I hope all of you do the same. This is a very serious threat to a lot of our livelihoods.

or they could do nothing and games will continue at low and mid stakes and they will continue to make money (probably a little less for awhile) then in 2 monthes, hell proly 2 days, when some huge fish sits at 200/400, all the high stakes guys will be falling over themselves rushing for a seat.

Actually I really don't see anyway they can admit someone was seeing hole cards. It would probably mean the end of their site. The trick for them is to send a coded message to us that they've fixed the problem and nailed the perpetrators, w/o actually admitting anything that would freak the fish out.

Yes a lot of the fish now *think* a lot of the sites are rigged. But suspicions of riggedness and known hole card cheating are two vastly different things.

So, what, they confiscated ostensibly innocent people's money to make the mob happy? Good job guys.

Adanthar, how can they really admit to more w/o basically signing their death warrant as a site?
