Default 2/4 suggestions needed.

I went to my local casino ( Amsterdam ) tonight, to play a $50 SnG. I had to wait 2 hours, so I sat down at the lowest cash game available wich is 2/4 limit. I normally play NL, but i read Holdem poker f.a.p and small stakes holdem a while back.
Now this was the first time i played a live cash game.
I bought in for 120, and in my first hand i lost about 30 with AK vs an A7 who made two pair on the river.
Lost another 20 to see the flop with pocket fours and pocket fives. Sticked around with pocket fives when the flop was
3 4 6 draw never came tho, lost to A6 ofsuit who couldnt let go although he could've had thirth pair on the river.
I lost another big hand with Queens vs Kings on a 10 high flop, no obvious straight or flush possibilities.
My last hand at the table was with AQ vs A2 flop AA2.
I left the table with 5$. But imo I didnt really play bad. Played strong hands, respected odds with draws.
Should I get away from these hands i mentioned ? Or is this just a bad night where I got outdrawn a couple times.
I mean do i lay AK down when I know these players can have any Ace and so for probably 2 pair??
So that would be my question, and i really felt like this cash game was a good oppurtinity to build a Bankroll.
I mean 4 players didnt know how the blind rules were, 2 players cap with K3o and Q5s etc.
Does any limit player with some expercience know how i should play on these kind of tables. And should i even play there ? I got around 2k to play with and Play 50nl online.

Anyway thx for any advice and excuse me for my grammar, im not so great in english ><

There are important differences between limit and no limit. AKo is a strong hand preflop in both limit and NL, but in NL you can control the size of the bets so that a poor player that calls with A7o is making a big mistake. In limit you can only raise one small bet, so the player calling with A7o is making a smaller mistake. While one player making this kind of mistake is good, a table full of them can be frustrating. AKo will win less often against a table full of fish.

If you lost 7.5 BB on AKo vs A7o, I’m guess you were too aggressive. You still need to play AK aggressively, but you need to recognize when to shift gears and just check and call down or fold.

thx for reply's. I think I wasn't used to the extreme loose passive game that was going on there. Also picked up hands wich were hard to fold, TPTK, good draws, top set etc.
But considering this game is really weak, is it a good idea to begin playing there regular, although 2/4 is probably to high for my bankroll, wich is regular br for 50NL 1.5 / 2k
The NL game there is def. too big for me being 500NL.
Is it possible to play tight and straightforward in this game, and build a good bankroll with not to much variance ?
Any how I believe that would my hands have held up that night and left a winner, I wouldnt even ask these questions.
But I work 3 days a week, earning somewhere around 900 euro a month ($1300) and losing 150 in a couple hours makes me unsecure and not sure if I should keep playing this sick table or leave at that night. Its just that I know this is a great oppurtunity to get somewhere with poker for real
(wich ive been wanting to for some time now), but i just cant afford donating 100-200 to some guys who can have any 2 cards and never fold.Maybe it might be something i need to see as positive though.
Thx for any comments to this n*wb

The rake in that game is 10%. It's beatable if you play good, but not by much.

Is the 10% rake capped?

In most US casino’s it is tough to make money at 2/4 even though the players are terrible, because of the high rake. If the game is very good, you might be able to average 1 or 2 BB per hour, but with huge variances. Most people say you need at least a 300BB bankroll for limit. That is 1200 at 2/4. That is your total poker bankroll, not how much you bring to the game. If you have a steady income and can replace some of the losses, you can of course play with a smaller or even no poker bankroll.

The think to remember is the variance is big in these kinds of loose passive games. It is easy to go on 100+BB loosing streaks. Don’t let that shake your confidence. If losing a few big hands gets you playing poorly, you have to have the discipline to step away from the table or leave for the night.
