If he his any good and did manage to flop a monster (ie 2 pair, set , straight) this is an excellent move.
You're not going to put any more money in the pot if you don't have an A. And if you do have a big A, you almost can't fold.

I disagree. The ace is a super standard card for hero to double barrel bluff on.

it's also a great bluffing card so villain could think like this:

if hero has A he calls, if he doesn't he could view my allin as a bluff attempt and talk himself into calling with an underpair

True, but I think we might be assigning too many levels of thinking to the villain who is no doubt a donk. I would guess that we're good about half the time here, which given the pot odds leans me towards calling. I think it's pretty close though.

This smells like a pair that just picked up a flushdraw to me, very common line that people use with this type of hand. Having said that, sometimes he will probably have us beat here, so I think our equity vs his range isnīt really all that good, but I think pot odds justify a call enough to make it profitable.

Results:

Hero called (feeling dirty about it, knowing he was going to post it on 2p2), villain turns over J9o. River blanks, MHIG.
