My buddy is currently on a heater that has lasted 37 sessions (live play) in a row winning at least 1$, as high as $3300 (average win being about 5-600) playing 2-5 NL Full Ring at Casino Arizona. He's a good player and all, but no Phil Ivey. Anyone else go this long live (or online for that matter)? He says he is running good, but can you run good for like 3 months?
thanks -nick |

Mine is about 35 sessions playing 3/6 through 10/20, pre UIGEA. Ran at about 15PTB/100.

It's definitely possible; I've been running like that for six months or so, too. When I show people my poker buddies my spreadsheets and stuff, it's always 'Oh, you must run like God', but it's more of a testament to how bad the players in the game are, not how well I've been playing.
It's all about game selection. In my last 32 sessions at Foxwoods, I've had 3 losing sessions. Since I've been back to New Orleans 3 weeks ago, I've only had the opportunity to get in two games, but, again - selected my game wisely (I only play mixed games; I can't imagine sustaining a winrate like that in NLHE, like your friend) - and had two very nice paydays. I run like God. |
