AJo from BB Short Handed - pf play
Table very passive. no pf raises in previous 10 hands i've observed.
Villain is loose calling station - often in the river. Table is 6 handed. (sorry no stats. new laptop and waiting for PT website to come back online to download it) 0.15/0.30 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.15. UTG calls, 1 fold, CO (poster) checks, 1 fold, SB (Villain)/ completes, Hero checks. # pf bothers me. at the time given passive nature of table i was worried bet from BB would scare off players. Flop: (7 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Villain checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, CO folds, SB (Villain)/ calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Villain checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, Villain calls. # plan b/f here River: (5.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Villain checks, Hero ??? Final Pot: 7.50 BB rest of hand i think was ok. but pre-flop tho, bet or check?? |

Re: AJo from BB Short Handed - pf play
yeah. definitely lol (after ranting at myself). weaker than a wet paper towel on the pf. got the value bet in on the river and all worked out fine.

Re: AJo from BB Short Handed - pf play
Allow me to explain the lol. In our experience, almost noone limp-folds for 1 bet preflop in LHE. You are more likely to scare players if you're never raising here without QQ+, although I doubt many of your opponents would pay attention anyway. Preflop is a value raise and the river is a value bet (bet-call as Ulkis has suggested).

Re: AJo from BB Short Handed - pf play
I don't get the question?
I have a hand that beats so much crap its ridiculous, I get callers coming out of my ass giving me all kinds of free money and I wonder if I should bet it? I guess in this case checking it down to the river is good because someone could have hit a fh on the river. I serious wonder if you should be playing 6 max table. Number 1 plan on the turn bet/fold? Are you kidding me? This is a joke yes? |

Re: AJo from BB Short Handed - pf play
After a long time debating these types of hands I have decided I prefer to check AJo, KQo fom the BB agasit 3 opps. But raising is the correct play equity-wise pf. I just find post-flop goes so much better if I don't raise here.

[/ QUOTE ] once in awhile that is reasonable where you can donk a miss coming out but that depends on your opponents and your play style as its perceived by the opponents. To assume this brain dead crowd has a clue to what you are doing is seriously a big mistake. |
