99 still good enough?
No real reads about Villain here because just a few a minutes at the table.
Any plan to play the turn? Re: 99 still good enough?
Shut it down, play 99-JJ for sets, the only reason why you win money in these hands against lower pairs is because they are also bad players lol.

Re: 99 still good enough?
I don't like pre-flop. Just call and play for set value.
As played check fold turn. |

Re: 99 still good enough?
OP I think you answered your own question... You 3bet led flop qxx rag -you may be ahead but are lost/most likely behind only beating small and medium pairs. vs a o.k player you'll going to lose more money and get no more and vs a donk he's going to weakly bet to river with may be a q2o. As lego said. |

Re: 99 still good enough?
c/f turn
you've been called on a Qhigh rag flop. very unlikely hes drawing. you could still be ahead of a stubborn underpair, but i really doubt hes gonna bet with it - he'll wanna get to SD cheaply as much as you do. If he bets you're almost certainly behind and hes not gonna call another barrel with anything you beat |

Re: 99 still good enough?
OOP i think its best to play for set value and just call as other posters have stated. Depending upon the table though, had you been on the button, I would have no problem with your play of squeezing your OOP opponents.
As played, at these stakes you are almost always getting at least once caller under these circumstances. yes, you take it down with a cbet quite often but playing a hand like 99 OOP in a big pot is tough and leads to situations like this one. as everyone else said, i shut down on this turn. |

Re: 99 still good enough?
3-bet pf is fine I think. 99 is too good to play for set value, and I would rather take it down pf with a reraise, or with a c-bet on the flop (our advantage as first to act is huge).
Once he calls flop, I think you shut down. We have 77% Equity vs AK and we are crushed by the rest of his range. Unless you know that he's calling the flop with 66,77,88 Etc and putting you on AK I dont think you can bet here. Check/fold Thr turn. If villian checks behind and the river ist AKJ are we check/calling a psb ? |

Re: 99 still good enough?
Interestingly our equity vs his range is not too dire:
Board: Qc 4s 2h Ts Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 40.894% 40.24% 00.65% 8181 132.00 { 99 } Hand 1: 59.106% 58.46% 00.65% 11883 132.00 { QQ-66, 44, 22, AQs+, KQs, AQo+, KQo } |
