Here is the poker theory way to look at it: When you reraised to $1.40, you denied your opponent the implied odds to profitably call and flop anything that beat your aces. Therefore as long as all of the money went in on the flop, the worst that happened is that you won fewer SklanskyBux than you otherwise could have (but you still made a profit).
Here is the non-theory way to look at it: At 10NL, especially on the weekend, I would have to have a solid read that Villain would never do this with less than two pair before I folded. That kind of read would require me to have observed him never getting it all-in on the flop with TPTK/QQ+ on a similarly scary board on three or four occassions, and preferably against a few different varieties of opponents, since players sometimes do things differently against an aggressive player/table captain than they do against a passive/weak/unobtrusive player. You played it fine. |
