[/ QUOTE ] well, as a pats fan, the reason it pissed me off was because people are saying things like 'brady wouldn't be that good without cheating' or 'would they have won all those super bowls without cheating?' when in fact any advantage they gained from this cheating was no more than what you would get from having a couple guys in the stands with binoculars writing stuff down and trying to decode it, which any NFL team doing their due diligence is going to have. i can see why people are pissed off at them for doing it because it's arrogant and obnoxious, but what they basically did was get information in a lazy way that they should have had to work a tiny bit harder for. [/ QUOTE ] That's a good point. There are tons of studies that support punting much, much less than most teams do, but anyone who plays madden knows. In my first season of Madden '08, I think I kicked 3 punts total with Josh Miller.

[/ QUOTE ] Personally I view it as the Pats finally getting dinged after years of breaking rules in small ways that they don't usually get called for. We have all seen the pats get away with mugging WRs in big games and have seen them fake injuries to buy time against the no huddle ( which needs to be dealt with soon by the NFL because tons of other teams have copied this in the last few years.) The anger isn't so much for the video taping as the general perception that the Pats have been playing just outside the rules in several areas for a long time now.
