I'm actually more concerned about the Packers than the bears. But the Lions do get them at home before playing them on the road.

[/ QUOTE ]I picked Packers to win division but that Bear defense week one against SD was zomg sick. Haven't seen their second game yet. Both teams are clearly better all around but in NFL anything can happen over tiny 16 game sample. Lions could fluke win 11 games or something insane. I wish. Want to see the defense play a team led by an NFL quality QB. Or, check that. I'll take McCown, Jackson every week if possible. Reeaaaally don't think they will look good when they need to but have played well for now. Shaun Rogers still not on IR through 2 games, o/u how many more? Seriously.

also LatexNun you know if Minnesota had the local Pop Warner QB in there, we would have lost, right?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think Minny beats many teams with just an average QB. Unfortunately, run defense alone doesn't win many games.

It's still early and I look for Detroit to improve. This team had the same point differential as 49ers last year, yet Det's record was far worse. I think that's the difference between starting off 2-0 compared to 0-2 for a change...

We're already 20% of the way to Kitna's 10-win projection!

Calvin Johnson is a beast though. Just thinking how sick this team will be when he gets a year or two under him. With Roy Williams already one of best in NFL, very scary. Megatron (good nickname btw thx Roy) fade this week looked soooo easy. Jump ball every time there, no corner is stopping this esp. as his technique improves. Reeeeeeaaaallly hope Lions get a QB after Kitna runs out of gas--I'd say he has two years left, offense is very unfriendly to QB as far as protection is concerned. Didn't like Stanton pick from Mich State. We'll see. Martz better be in for long term!

I'm actually more concerned that Matt Millen is still our General Manager. If somehow we are 5-3 or better at the halfway point, he might go trade Calvin Johnson for some "veteran help".

Shame on you sir, this is UNPRECEDENTED and you know it. Millen's ego is too bloated to make an in-season trade. That would be like admitting, for a change, that he in fact did not have the most talented NFL team before the trade deadline. Impossible. Millen may be a dunce, but he's far too stubborn and arrogant to make an in-season trade barring some major injury...

OMG, Al Michaels just mentioned this year's "noteworthy" 2-0 teams, and he didn't include the Lions! I'd like to pop a cap in that dissin' fool's ass. Pretty please bring back Dennis Miller now, thank you!!!

Well the team is pretty much guaranteed to win at least 10 games this year, so 2-0 isn't noteworthy.

SO LIKE OMG - I lost my ASS on Notre Dame +13.5 yesterday. Sucks when you're giving up 20 yards of field position at the start of every single drive and still only lose by a few points...

I'll feel better if the Lions steal a win in Philly Sunday. This is the first meaningful game between these teams since the Eagles destroyed the Lions in the 1995 playoffs. I do miss Barry, but Scott Mitchell can burn in hell. At least Millen can't take credit for that dreadful contract.

Jon Kitna's a real gamer and OMG those WRs are STUDS! Put Brian Westbrook in Lions backfield and it's super-easy lights out. McNabb's looking a bit pedestrian these days, so Kitna must not offset this by chucking INTs. Unless McNabb totally stinks it up, I think Westbrook will be the difference in this game. Then again, McNabb might find his groove if Lions D-Line doesn't rush him. Eagles TE Smith is out and DB Lito Sheppard might not start...
