JJ with no read
First orbit, no read. 1) How do you proceed? 2) Does a raise AI vs folding/calling turn, folding to resistance, have any huge impact on my Bank Roll long term?

Re: JJ with no read
Folding pre would be the worst thing possible, because of set value.

Folding pre would be the worst thing possible, because of set value. [/ QUOTE ] You have not set value. If you call you do it to stack off on a flop like this. Folding PF is at worst a small mistake. |

We have some set value and some value playing it as an overpair. [/ QUOTE ] Saw the stack sizes so maybe we have som set value, but it's very marginal. [ QUOTE ] We're not eager to stack off either. [/ QUOTE ] So you mean that you call the flop bet and fold when he fires again on the turn? |

Re: JJ with no read
I think like the pf call and I call the flop too. I think he'll shut down with AK most often.

[ QUOTE ] We have some set value and some value playing it as an overpair. [/ QUOTE ] Saw the stack sizes so maybe we have som set value, but it's very marginal. [/ QUOTE ] No it's not "very marginal" especially when our opponent is more likely to have a big hand and be willing to stack off postflop. We just got 3bet from the [censored] blinds. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] We're not eager to stack off either. [/ QUOTE ] So you mean that you call the flop bet and fold when he fires again on the turn? [/ QUOTE ] When he fires again on the turn? You mean if he fires again on the turn. And most likely without a read. Having QQ here isn't much better (except that we don't have to worry about being beat by QQ too). If the turn becomes a spade we can consider calling another barrel though. |
