Playing Higher Stakes Than Usual Live
I'm heading over to the casino tonight with a group of friends. The lowest limit they offer is $2/$4 a step up from my usual $25NL online. Also it's pot limit.
Does anyone have any advice for adjusting my play to these conditions? I'll probably be buying in for 25bb and short stacking it. Will this work for pot limit? The other players are normally very loose and aggro, and quite often drunk. Thanks! |

[/ QUOTE ] It's slightly harder in pot limit as there will be times when you want to push preflop but obviously can't. You may well find youself in a position where you're tempted to push the flop blind, e.g., re-raising pre with KK and you don't really want to know whether an ace flops or not. Try not to get over-optimistic about your set odds too. But generally I'm sure you'll be fine. Which UK casino by the way? |

Come up with a solution other than buying in for 25 BB's.

Thanks jtr.
Aspers in Newcastle. Just got back, i played about 4-5 hands in 4 hours and cashed out for ~90 bb. play was strange, reasonably solid except no-one seemed able to fold unhit AK etc, and gutshots were treated as valid draws. no complaints with that. |

Thanks jtr. [/ QUOTE ] No problem, glad you did well. Re: Playing Higher Stakes Than Usual Live
Does pot limit play slower in a casino as deciding a pot size plus the size of the bet to be called can be slightly time intensive?

Re: Playing Higher Stakes Than Usual Live
in my experience most people just say bet pot, then the dealer (if good) already has counted the pot, and tells you how much. Not slow, but slower than NL. People thinking about their action was the slowest part by a long way.
