It looked short to me too, but perhaps the camera angle made it look that way.

And why is the officiating crew a big 12 crew. I thought in non-conference games they use a different crew.

Was it different last year? This year it's all hometown officiating in every game I've watched.

EDIT: I know in bowl games you have neutral conference officiating crews.
