[ QUOTE ]
What happens if he takes a 5 there? If they rule he tried to hit it do they just add a stroke? Do they DQ him for signing off on a card they think isn't right whether they talk to him or not? I guess they just said officials would talk to him, so he'll have time to explain it or fix his card before he finishes. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, just the honor system on Woody - he gets the final word. I'm thinking he could snap in a post game interview. He seems like he's having some kind of identity crisis or something, and being questioned about this after getting smoked by Tiger may make him snap again. |

I still think Woody outplayed Tiger.

Re: Tour Championship
It's not always about one's own word. There are some instances where you know someone attempted a stroke, but usually not. I think Woody made the attempt, but the officials made the correct decision. If Woody doesn't put it down as a stroke, I think most on tour will consider him to have cheated.

Re: Tour Championship
It did not look like a stroke to me. The putter was coming down at almost a perpendicular angle to the ground. That's a pretty unorthodox putting stroke, even for a tap in.

Re: Tour Championship
On the replays they were showing it looked like it was swinging it at the bottom. Also, the way he starts to bring it up like he thinks he was just about to hit the ball looked pretty telling to me. It was a ways up and he puts it back down by the ball to actually hit it. At least, that's how it looked to me.

Yeah, he took a stroke at the ball. I'll lose all respect for the guy if he doesn't take a 6 on the hole.

Re: Tour Championship
What a great day of golf.
Austin having to suffer through that round next to Woods was just awesome. Can't wait for tomorrow...hopefully Zach cools off a bit and doesn't cause any problems, lol. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm quite sure he's going to lose sleep over the fact that you've lost respect for him. Only Woody knows for sure and he gets the final say. That's the beauty and honor of this great ancient game. Where else do players have a say in the rules? BO |
