Thanks. They will switch me to the 9/22 tourney (I can't cash it out), I just have to remember to mail them when the tourney is posted...

I realized why they gave me the entry - the last $150K Guarantee had not quite 300 entrants, which means entry fees less than $150K, so a gift entry doesn't cost them anything extra. Clever, eh? Assuming they have under 300 entries again, anyway.

I figured it had to be something along those lines, kinda like an airline upgrading you to first class when they empty seats up there. Still, it's always nice to fly first class

The other instructors actually make sense. On the Hendon Mob database Seif has almost 50 cashes listed for nearly $2 million in winnings at all sorts of games back to 1998. However notably missing from the list are any cashes at Razz or HORSE unless I missed something. Must be a fill-in for Razz instructor but I'd have to guess he is decent at the game. Plus he might have overbet a crucial hand in a tourney when he thought his 23 444K K had a board lock against his opponent's xx AAAA x.

This makes absolutely zero sense. Not only is there no evidence Seif is any good at razz, but Lederer and Andy Bloch (both of whom are very good) are also instructing there just for other games! I guess they didn't want to do it, but who knows how Seif got the job.

Nice thread. Thought I would get pedantic on PS's ass. Low priority indeed! Philistines!

"Thank you for your email. The hand examples are meant to be demonstrative,
to show that trips *SUCK* in Razz, and that they aren't necessarily
show-down hands, but we do congratulate on your game and for spotting this
discrepancy.

We will contact our web programmers and have them update this example to a
more appropriate demonstration. This is a low priority so you may not see
the change immediately.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. Please do not
hesitate to contact us anytime you require assistance.

Regards,

Trent

Finally, just for the record, pairs do not count to decide the outcome of a Razz game. The only thing the game considers is the value of the cards not if they are paired.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hero loses 9 low vs 7 low and the pairs just aren't counted. By this logic I think we'd have to assume that AAAA2 is the nutzzzzzzz.....if we're just playing the 5 lowest cards we have.

[ QUOTE ]
*** SUMMARY ***
Total Pot($2.35) | Rake ($0.10)
Seat 1: Villain won Total ($2.25) with 7,5,4,4,2 [4s 2h 7s 5d 4d 5s 4c - P:2h,B:4c,B:4d,B:5d,B:7s]
Seat 2: Hero lost with 9,7,3,A,A [Ac 9s 7c 3s Ad 3h 9h -
P:Ac,B:Ad,B:3h,B:7c,B:9h]

[/ QUOTE ]

But wait, if pairs don't count then why can't hero play 733AA????????? Villain could similarly play 54442 and still win though with his 5 low.

Cheers to them for giving you a $500 ticket, and it's good to know that it's under a fix.
