I don't know of any free ways. I use Parallels and it works fine. Runs FTP (although I use the Mac FTP version), Stars and Poker Tracker

I used Boot Camp which has worked tremedously well for me.
I installed Boot Camp and then installed windows. I took 12gigs from my Mac Harddrive and devoted that to Windows. I do not surf any webpages I do not trust on Windows (aka Bob's website, or click this so some poor child in Bratislavia gets a goat) and I do not install any programs I do not need. I currently have about 20 poker room applications and some other poker realted apps. I like this as it keeps me focused while playing and I dont have videos or dvds in the background. It takes about 45 secs - 1 minute to switch from windowds to mac which is not problem at all. Macs are incredible machines with no viruses, spyware, etc. Plus the appliations which come with a Mac are amazing. (imovie, idvd, iphoto, iweb etc) (No I do not work for Mac I just hate the bad rap they get as my machine is sooooo good.) PS Full Tilt works on a Mac and Stars is soon if installing boot camp or some program like it is holding you back from getting one. |

I also just got a macbook pro because i [censored] hated vista and I'm very happy with my choice so far.
If you want to run windows programs on your mac, I'd use Parallels instead of bootcamp. You can seamlessly switch between windows and mac. You can even run them both at the same time. Pretty easy to setup too. |
