With the way hero played this hand villain's bet is nuts or nothing. You will get bluffed here occasionally, but in the long run I think the play is folding. He would have to be bluffing quite often, over 35% of the time, here to make calling profitable.

im of the opinion that making big folds is important in mid stakes full ring, (this is as opposed to the OMG DONT FODL A SET EVER SRSLY crowd)
however, this is not the spot to make a big fold.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't know, I'm usually in the never fold a set in a raised pot group but it just seems like the only hand he can have that we beat here that he would do this with is 88 and anything else would be pretty much air. AK is a possibility but I don't give it as much credit since 3 of the Ks are out. Could be AQ too but the only hands that would call a AQ push are ones that are ahead of it. Anyways, why would be post this hand if he won?

[/ QUOTE ] lol, that is probably the most results oriented post ever. this is a strategy forum, if everybody always won their hands there would be nothing to post. by default, the majority of posts are going to be losing hands/folded hands. i def agree, we don't beat too much. but there is so much money in the pot, we beat FD bluffs, we beat a ton of assorted 2p's and small sets.

If you where villain would you really be shoving A8 or A3 or any other 2 pair on this river given the way hero played this hand played out? If he thought hero had a missed draw or a weaker hand than his he probably would have value bet wouldn't he? I think he knows that board probably hit hero in a big way and wants a call. I don't think it is that improbable that he had AsXs and called a c-bet from an aggro player on the flop and turned the backdoor FD.
