I think it fold out so little of his preflop range (only small pocket pairs). Plus you have a draw to a big hand which would suck to get check raised on by a combo draw or a big hand.

[/ QUOTE ] What i meant is that my hand was pretty face up when i made the turn call and he must have known i couldn't call his river bet with one pair. I'm not saying its a good play (as he has to fire both the turn and river strong to make this play work), but he must have known i don't hold a hand by the river that can handle much heat. I just felt I left myself open to being exploited on the river with my flop check, turn call.
