Re: Wacky Home Game Rules?
Exactly. For that matter, I also strongly encourage straddling. By other people. Tho' four handed or less (or in a slow game), I'll do it. At one of my games we can get a re-re-re-straddle sometimes. Turns the pre-betting pot into tournament status. It's glorious.

Re: Wacky Home Game Rules?
The short straight.
I assume it exists somewhere as I had a guy come to a game I was running and show it down triumphantly, and then get very pissed off when we told him its not a real hand. For him to be that certain about it makes me think there's a home game somewhere that they actually allow it. Where would a short straight rank? |

Re: Wacky Home Game Rules?
Extra Baseball rules: (aside from standard 3s, 9s, 4s, and Qs)
Ks - You're Outta here! Toss someone from the game! Once someone's out, they're out even if there's a rainout. Js - Mays Steals Home! Trade the Js w/any card your opp. has. If it's down card, you can't look at it first! Before the showdown (salt to taste either before or after the last bet): The player with the lowest ranking hand showing gets to roll ONE of his down cards. Any consequences of this card showing now take place (4 - extra card, Ks Toss out, Js Steal, Qs Rainout). Proceed in order from lowest to highest ranking of showing hands (you can only roll once) The last part gives the folks who haven't made anything (or maybe 2nd best) a chance to knock out the top hand or Rainout and start over or give him a chance to draw that last card he needs. Makes it more likely that the special cards will come into play and can build the pot nicely. Best situation was in my once/month game (HORSE + 1 round of dealer call to keep it fun), Player A turns the Ks and knocks out B (who had put a 1-outer river beat on him earlier and cost him 1/2 of a nice pot). Player C then turns the Qs and reboots the game. Even Player B was laughing. -Lazlo... |

Re: Wacky Home Game Rules?
I play i a game where post flop BB acts first and SB becomes the button. The button is now the C/O.
It makes it profitable to play any 2 from the SB in any unraised pot unless the BB is super agg. |
