I shove this. Its 4 handed and he flat called the button making ak/kk and sometimes 1010 unlikely. I would put a decent amount of air and lower flush draws in his range which are folding here.

I think there is still no clear answer on what is best. Lots of good respected posters/players have told me they like folding, many others like calling, and some like shoving. Seems like the majority lean towards a fold, with shoving being the least popular.

Given I'm a rebel and all I opted to shove! He called with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and we split the pot after the board bricked.

I wouldn't call this a difficult situation. I can understand why a lot of people fold but given equal stack sizes I'd usually call and see what happens on the turn. His stack is way short compared to yours though which might make me lean towards a fold.

with the two spades on board I would lean towards fold, but I would prefer shoving over calling I think .... The equity analysis kinda showed us that a shove would be decent and I really don't like calling much in that spot

i am very surprised that calling was generally preferred over shoving. would be interested in hearing some elaboration from anyone who holds this opinion.

i actually like folding > shoving > calling. calling here just feels like bleeding off money to me.. can it really be +EV vs. a good player? i feel like shoving has enough fold equity to be better (though not enough to be better than just dropping it) but maybe i just get played back at more than normal
