Drive to a police station. The Beverly Hills police station has a special space where if you drive in and sit there, they'll come running out. Do other stations have this?

Perhaps if you "owned a toothbrush" or "combed your hair", this wouldn't have happened.

I love how people wouldn't talk to an obvious aggro tosspot on say a subway or on a bus, but they will make eye/gesture contact because they are in seperate cars.

lol.

OK, here's where you are failing.

By giving the little wave, 'hi, I'm better than you, and I really enjoyed the fact that you seemed to be getting upset with my being in front of you'

Flipping him off - 'Dude, you're being an a-hole, and I didn't appreciate it.'

Trust me, the second one is actually less aggravating.

1. When someone is tailgating you, move over and let them pass.

2. If you're going to wave (aka, rub the class difference in his poverty stricken face) at an angry, tailgating hick with no EZ pass, expect a negative reaction.

3. Never pull over. (seriously, wtf were you thinking by pulling over?)

In my opinion you handled this bad in a few spots. First of all don't think of the left hand lane as the "fast" lane. What is fast to you is not the same as what is fast to someone else. The lane is the passing lane. As soon as you see him tailgating and wanting to pass you, merge over, and then merge back. Pumping your brakes after you are already annoying him by not going "fast" is only going to make him more mad. As for the smiling thing, the most pissed I've ever been on the road is when someone cut me off and then blew a kiss at me when I got next to them at the next light. Sure it was a nice gesture, he wasn't being a dick.

Handled perfectly, I think. Except the part where you were a dick and brought this on yourself, but you already know that.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think waving at someone is being a dick,..

[/ QUOTE ]

Your passive/aggressive bullsh!t could've gotten you hurt or worse.

[ QUOTE ]
Do you think anyone who waves at you is a prick who needs to be killed?

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course no rational person is going to kill you for this, but the guy who was following you doesn't seem particularly rational. You were being a taunting prick at that moment, and loving every second of it, but you already know this.

[ QUOTE ]
God forbid I had honked back at him -- then I'm really asking to be run off the road amirite??

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course you should have the right to wave at people or honk your horn at people without being shot, but being in the right unfortunately doesn't protect us from bullets.

There's an old saying: "Don't be dead right."

When people are going faster than me I move over and let them pass instead of playing dangerous little games like brake checking them at 80mph. It's a pretty douchey thing to do imo. That's what probably had him really pissed off to begin with.

Sometimes it's just not possible to move over but I figure 75-80 is still reasonable enough until I can move over. Then when there is an opportunity I do move. Don't have too many problems.

Driving in a northern state on an expressway. Lots of traffic. I drive fast so I'm in the fast line, doing 75-80 or so, basically the max you could go without risking an accident. Slow lane is totally jammed.

[/ QUOTE ]

pull to the slow lane and let him by, jackass.
