Raise flop to $60 or so and AI on the turn. As played, BB is getting a nice price on his draw.

[/ QUOTE ] I can see raising more on the flop but do we really want him to fold his overpair on the turn? He has two outs and I don't want him to fold his JJ+ hand, I want all his money in the pot As a newbie to NL this is probably something that I need to learn... |

If he's gone this far, he's unlikely to fold his overpair on this board. But betting more on flop helps you by making a turn all in proportionally smaller and thus easier for him to call.

If he has a flush draw he's correct to call your raise. Your goal isnt to keep your customer in the pot. Your goal is to get him to make the biggest mistake hes capable of making. Since calling your raise isnt a mistake at all, you failed to do your job here. |
