Re: 200 NL, JJ 3-bet pot.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I don't like preflop even though eh's in the CO. [/ QUOTE ] He's tight, but he's raising most of the hands that he plays, so 3-betting JJ shouldn't be unprofitable against his range. If his stats were like 15/4 or something then flat-calling is definitely better. [/ QUOTE ] i'm terrible with preflop numbers. what do you think his preflop range is? [/ QUOTE ] Probably any pair, big aces, and big suited cards. He's not open-limping anything. |

So he has a tight preflop range which means he probably has a tight 3-bet calling range which is bad because it's probably something like TT+, AQ+ which is just about the worse calling range for our hand. Add on top of that the fact that he'll be calling our 3-bet often because he has a tight preflop range means that I don't think JJ is great to 3-bet here. (although I will concede that I thought his preflop range was quite a bit tighter...although playing JJ for FE is not ideal). |

Btw,, the turn-bet is not only for protection, it's for value too.
