measure win-rate per 100 hands instead of BBs at SSNL.

You obviously need to play live more. How could you possibly expect to know your win rate per 100 hands? In a 10 hour session I couldn't tell you how many hands I play in a night... but I sure know what time I get to the casino and what time I leave.

$/hr or BB/hr is much more useful to a live player who doesn't record every hand they play in a database.

had my 7th session last nite. so far...

1) 2 hrs --> +$359
2) 14 hrs --> +$717
3) 5 hrs --> -$364
4) 5 hrs --> +$243
5) 6 hrs --> +$71
6) 3 hrs --> -$327
7) 1 hr --> -$200

totals:
hrs = 36
profit = +$499
hrly rate = $13.86/hr or 6.9BB/hr

i lost the $200 fairly quick on a couple of bad beats and i was tiltin so bad i decided to get off the table b/c i didn't wanna see the people @ the table in front of me. i felt like beatin the crap out of a couple of them. so i got into the 2/5 and won $320 there in a couple of hrs. it was a decent nite after all. not a whole lot of money but it sure feels good to have a winnin session after runnin so bad the last few days online.

What is the rake/time charge at Tampa Hard Rock? Also what is the average stack usually? How are the dealers? I am on vacation in Florida and visited Hollywood Hardrock, played 1-2 NL and absolutely hated it.

Just to name a few things:
1) There was probably $1000 on the table when I sat down and I would guess there was never more than $1200-1300. The effective stack for pretty much every hand I played was <$100.
2) $120/hr coming off the table for the ($12/hr time charge) plus another $20-$40 in tips/jackpot drop.
3) I guess the minimum was $20 because some people reloaded for that, and a few others reloaded up to $60.
4) They did a $300-400 fill every 1-2 hours.
5) Many slow and inexperienced dealers, that didn't know anything about poker and couldn't make side pots (really important when players have <20BBs)

As a plus, the players were very bad. If I could play them in a game with deeper stacks, it would be a goldmine. With such short stacks, it seems the only way to beat it would be a solid TAG game, but that contradicts the best way to beat the time charge, which would be to play a more LAG game.

Basically, it seems Florida poker pales in comparison to the AC's, Vegas's, etc, and always will, unless they are allowed to increase the buyins.

P.S. Glad to see people are doing well in these games. They are definitely beatable, but IMO not nearly as fun or as profitable as the games elsewhere.

Tampa's Hard Rock rakes 10% to $5, from EVERY HAND DEALT. No chopping the blinds -- the dealer drops the small blind and the big blind keeps his $2. Also, the $1 spade royal is dropped from every $10 pot.

I've seen tables with $4K or more on them. I've seen stacks of green with racks of red in the control of single players, often after seeing someone drag a $700 pot.

Fills happen maybe once or twice an hour. Tampa's tables have smaller wells, not the big blackjack-style wells at H'wood.

Tampa has a $50-$100 min/max. Dealers are competent, but slow at times. But some of the players are unabashedly good.
