Re: which poker pro is the most educated ?
I know this isn't what you're all looking for, but it's interesting.
My ex roommate told me she is playing 'part time' which I guess qualifies her as a pro (only other income is a stipend from a research lab). She got her MD at 23 and is almost done w/ a PhD at McGill (skipped a bunch of grades). All the more impressive when you consider that I just taught her how to play in June of this year. No, I never got to do the secks with her, but I tried. |

[ QUOTE ]
The best way to judge IQ for most people is to look at one's SAT scores (if the test was taken pre-1995). Someone who scores a perfect 1600 has an IQ of at least 160-165 (4 standard deviations above normal). The general rule is that you can take off the last digit of your SAT score and the remaining three digits represent roughly your IQ (thus 1350 correlates roughly to a 135 IQ). This isn't exact, but it is rather close, especially if one took the test prior to 1995 (the newer versions are no longer closely correlated to IQ because of political correctness. The new SAT is no longer considered a valid psychomaetric instrument. Mensa, for example, does not accept new SAT scores, but does accept old ones. I think you must have around a 1350 for entry into Mensa.) [/ QUOTE ] This is the norming for the OLD SATs, not the ones most readers here haev taken. Also, iirc (no reference) most agree that after around 1400 the correlation between SAT and IQ gets lowish. |
