First is standard.

Second hand just sucks, but I fold. He has no reason to believe that you're folding, so I'd weigh the portion of his range that dominates you pretty heavy.

Ok just so we're clear, the first hand was posted only as a read about villian in hand 2. We only care about hand 2.

You're calling 5860 to win 9325.

If he's doing this with TT+,AK, you're losing chips. Like 1200 of them.
As long as he's bluffing 30% of the time though, it's a great call.

Also, I think I want the other villian calling the push, likely with something where my A/Q are live outs.

Also he might have 99 or a lower pair. Sometimes he has AJ or KQ or a hand like that.

Also, I've already given reasons why I discount AA/KK.

edited out my calculation. I was wrong, Stumpy's calculation is correct.

You forgot Antes, and the other villian's call PF.

(6820-960)+960+960+(25*9)=~9900

Dave...this is not a criticism, b/c i think your posts stimulate good discussion and your input is constructive.

That said, i think that you have a tendency (in this thread) to select specific hands, or 'subsets' of either the caller's or the shover's range when you are making a point about the strength of your hand (relative to their range.) This, IMO is both dangerous (to your stack) and misleading as it relates to discussions here. The relevant question isn't whether AQo plays well against 99;AJ; or KQ, it's how AQo plays against their entire range . AQ is a good hand, and it will play well against 'subsets' of a calling range as well as 'subsets' of a reraising range. The point that most of the replies are trying to make is that you are not getting the odds (1.7 to 1 vs. the >2 to 1 that you need) to make this call EV+ vs. the entire range of the RR'er.

Although i understand the logic behind your desire to redact shover's range to exclude AA/KK...i think this is a pretty bad mistake. If he's going to shove the lower end of his range: TT-QQ;AK...etc and RR to ~3000-3500 (or 1/2 his stack) with the pinnacle of his range: AA/KK, then he's terrible. Arguments can be made for doing the contrary, but most players tend to realize that RR'ing 1/2 their stack looks much stronger than overbet-shoving.

I'm not saying his range is 99, KJ etc. I'm saying Stumpy's range is too tight and should include those hands.

Also, no on'e commented on the implications of the other caller.
