Default Pot Odds in Tournament/Sit-N Go\'s vs Cash Games

I am wondering if people feel that the same rule of pot odds work in small tournament strategy as they do in cash games. If you are playing pot odds in a cash game you can always go back into your pocket so the averages should work out for you. In a tournament, where you have one shot or you are out, should you be playing the same rules? I play alot of SNGs on FTilt. And often find myself in situations with multiple callers but if I am holding 5-9off, is it worth it to risk what may be 5% of a stack on something that most likely is not going to pay off?

Thoughts?
