Also,

"I'm from New Orleans"
"oh no way, me too! How'd your family make out?"
"...2 died"

That was obviously the greatest pickup line ever, just barely ahead of "do you have bad health or something?"

her response "thats not polite conversation" IOI if I ever heard one!

Does it really matter if this show is entirely real or not? I watch it for entertainment and a bit of inspiration.

I don't know why people are surprised some of the guys in this show are actors to some degree. I'm sure a large amount of people who apply for this show (or any reality show)are struggling actors just trying to get on TV somehow; I don't think it neccesarrily means VH1 sought out actors to rig the show.

I also felt the crying was authentic and these guys have developed a strong friendship and challenged themselves so much that it is a very emotional experience.

That said, I'm sure keeping Pradeep on over Scott was done to just have some kind of conflict in the house. Also, who knows, maybe the girl in the coffee shop who Pradeep gamed so well was a hired actor to show tons of interest so Pradeep could "win" the challenge.

Any thoughts on the elimination in Ep 4?

It seemed like Mystery was basically conceding defeat with Scott when he talked about how Scott was so devoted to the method, but apparently Pradeep had more "potential".

Does this mean that Mystery would say that there are some people that his method cannot help, even if they follow it whole-heartedly? If this method is supposed to help the geekiest people become comfortable with women, then why should "potential" be a factor?

[/ QUOTE ]

The goal is supposedly to make the best pick up artist possible. So Mystery probably thought that Scott could only go so far.

Mystery (or one of the wingmen) mentioned in episode 5 that, once Pradeep opens a set, he has interesting stories to tell, he just has problems opening.

Here's a bad basketball analogy: Scott is a slow, short guy. Mystery can teach him how to shoot all day long, but at the end of the day, Scott will still be a slow short guy. Pradeep is a tall fast guy. He has trouble listening to Mystery, but if he ever did (and he has shown signs of listening) his potential is much greater.

As for episode 5, I was surprised at the elimination. I thought Joe W was one of the favorites to win.

So now let's handicap the remaining guys.

I think it's down to Kosmo and Pradeep.

Joe D's showing with the dog was pathetic and a huge step back. He may be comfortable in his body, but I don't think I've seen him have any success with women.

Brady just seems off. They described him earlier as trying to get by on his looks. But I'm not sure if he has the personality to be a "master PUA."

Kosmo has huge confidence issues, I don't know if he can cure that in time.

So that leaves Pradeep? No way, right?

Kosmo made out with a chick. Has anyone else done anything close?

Here's how I break it down.

* Joe D: Good at being the life of the party, but not good at picking up chicks. There was some episode when they were in the club and Joe W spun off the group and leaned up against the bar. Girl followed. Joe D hasn't done anything remotely close. I think he immerses himself so much in the group that he feels bad about leaving them to be with a single chick. Also I hate to say it but the dude is huge and I don't have faith that women will do much more than kiss him.

* Kosmo: Dude's got a lot of hangups but I think he's the best bet to become a PUA. He's already come a long way. In the first episode he was a wallflower. 100%, he just stood there stirring his drink. Before every challenge he freaks out before saying, "[censored] it, I'm going deep" and then pwnz. Out of all the people I think he's the most eager to learn. Plus did you see when he kissed the super hot blonde chick? If he can get a chick comfy enough for a kiss he's in.

* Brady: If the dude had any bit of game he'd do so freaking well. Boooooooooooring. Chicks give him third and fourth chances because he's tall and super good looking. Why on earth he completely ignores Mystery is beyond me. He has potential in the sense that his looks give him a leg up on most guys, but he doesn't do anything with it. I think if he wanted to change he would have by now, and even if he chose to I think the other guys are all way ahead of him and he's toast.

* Pradeep: He's Kosmo's contender imo. I think he could totally work social dynamics if he wasn't such a prick. He doesn't seem to have any respect for anyone. Assuming that everyone else in the world is stupid and worthless doesn't get you very far. otoh he seems to have flashes where he understands this and is open to Mystery's teachings. This might be controversial, but if you feel that some of this stuff is manipulative (at least at the beginning) then I think you have to assume he'll do well.

Honestly I think if everyone maxes their potential, Pradeep would be able to pick up the most chicks and bang them that night or soon thereafter. Kosmo could get a lot of one-night stands too but I have a feeling he'd have more quality interactions with women. I say it comes down to Pradeep and Kosmo, and Kosmo ends up winning because he's more genuine and will still have success. I don't see Pradeep as "profound & deep" but rather "Pradeep the creep"

Yugo I seem to remember you making like 20 replies in a row the last PUA thread we had. Is this some kind of bombardment strategy to get OOTers to sleep with you?

Exactly. The genius of the plan is in its simplicity.

Just chillin' with my top hat and big goggles beating hanger-ons off with a stick. Oh, hey, that reminds me, I need a quick opinion on something.

Who lies more, men or women?

Men and women have very different concepts of lying and honesty. To men, women lie more. To women, men lie more.

I thought this was an interesting idea when you first posted it, and now (weeks later) I think your idea's the only way to save the show for the long term. It's just too painful to watch these zeros try to interact with ANYONE. It may go another season because of the show's initial strength, but unless these guys get real interesting real soon, I can't imagine this show going three or four+ seasons. I don't care who wins because whoever it is, he'll will still be boring as hell to observe. (That Leyla chick was the main reason I tuned into see Monday's show)

(Just to reiterate your idea) On a scale from one to ten, I would now much rather watch the host help guys (who rank in the 7-to-9 range) become Tens, than a bunch of zeros become twos, threes, or fours.
