You didn't hit a set and your probably up against a larger overpair.

Without reads, this early, I may be a nit, but a fold is fine here. His bets look to me like a big PP not wanting to see an ace or a spade. If he's bluffing his AK, well, good for him.

At what pair would this change. If I had TT or JJ, what would I do in this situation.

I'll defer that answer to a better poster....
What I would do, may not be right.....BUT, If I have JJ+ I prob re-pop preflop. Dep. on his action, I lead/push the flop on that board. I prob. fold TT - but again, I'll let one of the better posters straighten us out. |

I don't understand what kind of human being does this. "OH, so you raise to 90...well...I raise to 150." [censored] you.
This is a pretty clear fold. With JJ, I smooth call and probably call on the flop. I think you max against AK/AQ/1010 this way. With QQ, I repop pre. This type of player will come along for the ride with JJ and even 1010 (AQ), so QQ is where I start five-betting. 1010 is trickier, I may play it the same as 99. Barry |

Re: 99 from EP v. small reraise, cold call and all low flop FT $24+2
villain's pf reraise is retarded...oh well
without a read this hand I fold on flop and just hope that I get to be the player who gets this guys chips because it sure looks like he's gonna give them away later. I play TT the same way, JJ is where it gets difficult for me. With the 3-bet because the sizing is stupid, I often will assume villain sucks...and if he sucks he probably doesn't 3-bet anything less than QQ (but with those presumptions I'm pretty sure my nitty side has lost out on value a lot of times since when I've snapped off a call in hands just like this one, I've seen a lot worse holdings) |
