Re: Defending BB: which offsuit holdings and when?
GVasa you seem pretty certain about this, does everyone think JTo should be called against an UTG raise?

Re: Defending BB: which offsuit holdings and when?
I ran pokerstove on this and if you assume UTG rasier would raise with top 10% and cold caller would call with top 20%, if you have J7O your equity is 18.6% and with JTO it is 21.6%. Getting 5-1 on your call, I would say the J7O is a no and JTO would be a maybe. JT has a larger chance of being dominated, but probably would call due to the fact you can make the nut straight two ways.
How much of an equity edge do you deduct for being out of Position? |

Re: Defending BB: which offsuit holdings and when?
Do that stove again. It is useless. No one in their right mind will only raise 10% UTG. Make that around 15-17%. Also a coldcaller will not cold call the top 20% of his hands, he will 3 bet his better hands. In addition to that a coldcaller will likely coldcall quite a bit but that is of course player dependent.
A stove that would make sense is to stove JTo vs top 15% and top 35% less the best 5%. @ OP I would call J7o vs a BTN raise and SB cold call or a loose CO raise and a SB cold call. J7o vs an UTG raise is suicide unless UTG is extremely loose. |
