I check behind on the river but I think you are good here.
Very rarely will someone check the river hoping for a check raise. I would have made it $1.25 preflop though. That way your flop bet could be bigger if no K or A appears. |

[/ QUOTE ] I know what you mean and I have done that from time to time as the table would fold to my AA raise. Then another good hand comes along and I would make a smaller raise and get myself in the same situation you were in. So now I generally make the proper raise no matter what. I think it's better off winning smaller than losing bigger. Anyway, MP2 could be calling with Ax, or a FD. The way MP2 played smelled like Ax. Other than the small PF raise, I thought your post flop play was fine. I can't fault you for betting the turn 1/2 pot to keep the pot small. Somehow I think MP2 probably turned over A9 or something like that. |

Re: NL25 - QQ and an ace appears on the flop
Raise PF 1.25 as mentionend before. In general, I m not a fan of varying my bet sizes too much, I raise the same amount with AA that I raise with 65s and I keep raising the same amounts even when I had like 4 good hands in a row.
Rest of the hand is played fine, I guess you won and he showed an K high flush draw here...Just playing a little guessing game here of course! |

Thanks for the comments guys.
Leatangclan is bang on actually. A9 it was. I play a tight pre flop game so the villain might have wondered if he was outkickered. Tbh I think he was hoping for a $5 river bet which he could re-raise but things didn't work out for him. |

I've been in the same spot too, but I think consistency is even more important when you catch a few in a row. I think that it lends more credibility to the idea that you're just stealing from a tight table and somoene will look you up. |
