Thanks for the link to discussion about preflop bet sizing.
I m not sure that I agree with you, but I will certainly take a
look at the discussion and rethink my preflop bet sizing.

Fine about protecting your hand against straight and flush draws, but
what you and the others are basically saying is that if opponent
flopped a set then you are getting stacked, right?

Yeah, you get stacked on this flop most likely. Just make sure to get him put in enough money in the (way more likely) case he doesn't have a set.

this flop looks like a standard 3bet.....yeah, make it 3.50 or 4 preflop and 5.5-6 otf too like others mentioned.

Default How to defend against sets?

The guy showed me TT and I was dead to 2 outs. All the lines suggested
in this thread would only have gotten the money allin quicker than I did,
and would have lost the whole stack too.

How do you defend against sets then? I recall seeing a Brian sbrugby
video where he discussed aggressively betting non premium hands to
protect your really good ones, but his explanation was not so clear.

How do you defend against sets?

Thanks,
jonathan

whats up w/ ur betsizing? that's just bad. make it 4BB pf.
flop: what a nasty flop. i like a close to psb cbet here. if he raises i'd prolly stick it in on the flop here. calling is just bad bc ur OOP and there's so many draws out.
turn: i def don't like to stick it in on this not-blank turn.

so just b/3bet flop and go to war with it. it's only 100BB btw =)

edit: i obv didn't read the other posts

How to defend against sets?

Well on this board (w/o a specific read that villain is uber passive) i stack off for 100BB. If we were deeper we might be able to get away from this. then i like the call flop/ bomb brick turn line better. but like i said: it's 100BB heads up vs a donk on a draw heavy board. just stick it in.
against a donk the times u are shown a lone T,9, JJ, QQ or whatever the hell he's holding make up for the few times he's got a set.

on a drawy flop against a loose player aggressive with his draws and for 100 BB you are always stacking off the times he has a set because you're ahead of his range, not of his holding in this particular hand.
You have to put opponents on ranges.
