50NL: AJs OOP Awkward Stacks
No reads. The previous hand I raised and only the BB called. He bet pot into me on the flop and I folded. The players might think I'm steamin' a little, if they are paying attention.
CO stack size is a bit awkward. What do you like doing on the turn, betting or checking? If we make any sizeable bet we are pretty much committed to calling a shove. Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $14.70 BB: $30.80 Hero (UTG): $48.45 MP: $49.25 CO: $31.55 BTN: $39.45 Preflop: Hero is dealt J A (6 Players) Hero raises to $1.75, MP folds, CO calls $1.75, BTN calls $1.75, 2 folds Flop: ($6) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 8 (3 Players) Hero bets $4.50, CO calls $4.50, BTN folds Turn: ($15) 2 (2 Players) Hero ? |

Re: 50NL: AJs OOP Awkward Stacks
i check the turn for pot control. if you raise the turn I think you're pretty much turning your hand into a bluff.

Re: 50NL: AJs OOP Awkward Stacks
If we check-call the turn aren't we essentially forcing ourselves into a situation where we have to decide if we want to call a shove on the river?
How do we know whether or not villain is betting the turn because she thinks we missed the flop and have given up after c-betting? |

Re: 50NL: AJs OOP Awkward Stacks
Check/Calling the turn probably commits us. I think that's why the hand is interesting. I think this is a bad option. That leaves three: c/rai, c/f, lead.
Of the three choices, I think I prefer a blocking bet of maybe 7. That still leaves a tough choice on the river though if we check and he shoves. I think I flip my trusty 3-sided coin. |

Re: 50NL: AJs OOP Awkward Stacks
If I bet I have to call a shove, so since the board was pretty dry I decided to check and see what happened.

Re: 50NL: AJs OOP Awkward Stacks
and gave yourself a harder decision. Looks like NLTAP was a waste of money...

Re: 50NL: AJs OOP Awkward Stacks
Shove it in now. This is a decent board for AJ vs. both villain's ranges Imo. Although I don't see anything that bets the turn for value that we beat after we led the flop 3-way, leading the turn folds out the lower part of his range. So, CRAI = max value vs. {random floats, weaker aces, combo draws, whatever} etc.
