Default JJ in 3bet pot vs solid TAG --> common spot

Villain is 17/14/3 over about 1k datamined.
He raises small PP's UTG and is positionally aware, but apart from that I don't have a read. He's playing 4 tables 400NL so I assume he is competent to a certain degree.

400NL
CO ($408)
Button ($553.70)
SB ($510.60)
BB ($400)
UTG ($521.40)
Hero ($879.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG raises to $14, Hero raises to $46, 4 folds, UTG calls $32.

Flop: ($98) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($98) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets $70, Hero ??

Comments on the postflop streets very much appreciated

Bet the flop for value and protection. There is no need for pot control on the flop.

By what worse hands do you expect to be called?

You need to bet the flop. I would bet around 65-70.

Are you assuming that villain always has you beat? Because that would be a faulty assumption.

Call turn. Be like really confused when he pushes river. Then fold the river.

No I assume that I will not get called by worse hands when I bet the flop.

But you have to think about your hand strenght. You don't want to be inducing bluffs because you won't stand it. You also assume wrong in that ppl will never call worse: Tx, underpairs; I've seen calls from that kind of stuff many times.

You are complicating this hand without reason AND how are we possibly to deal with a strong double barrel from villain? You are allowing him to play much more perfect, instead of merging your own ranges.
