Need some feedback on how i played my Jacks.
Local casino, 1/2 NL. First hand of the night, all the players are friends on vacation who have never played live poker at these stakes before (or so i overheard). 6 handed at this point.
I get JJ utg, raise to 12 (standard preflop raise in the game at this casino). UTG+1 calls, and SB min raises me to 22. BB calls 22, and i reraise to 72. All 3 players call. Im a little worried now, i wanted to isolate. Board comes 10-7-4 rainbow. Pretty good flop for me. SB checks, BB checks. I figure they have aces with some sort of kickers, queen, jack, maybe king. I fire out 100 which puts them all all in as they only bought in for about 140 each, while i bought in for the full 200. UTG+1 calls, SB calls, BB folds. I show JJ, UTG+1 shows Ace-King offsuit, and the small blind, who minraised me, shows Ace-7 offsuit. River and turn are blanks and i more than double up first hand. Now, was my reraise to 72 a bad move? If i was against a more seasoned players or one of the regulars, i definatley wouldnt do that. But the whole time i was feeling weakness from all three players, so i tryed to exploit that. I thought i played it well, but maybe i just got lucky that no overcards came and i was an idiot for reraising? |

Re: Need some feedback on how i played my Jacks.
In a live game i just shove preflop with JJ in this spot ,since u might not be able to isolate with a 72 bet and an overcard is gonna flop 60% of the time and more importantly u might still get callrd by a lot of hands u crushed here.

Based on your knowledge of players i think you palyed this well. As a rule I wouldnt make this 3b w JJ since you can be crushed by a higher pair, plus if overcards flop can get away cheaply
