FWIW, my pic on stars is same as my avatar here, and it seems like I get a lot more action when I want it, and I have to attribute my pic to at least a tiny contribution to that factor (from either previous or ensuing chat about it)

I usually assume the baby pictures are from women players. Of course we do have a guy at work who has totally plastered his workstation with his kid's pictures. At least the kid is cute.

Whoever is bothered by pics of babies and dogs enough to bitch about it, prolly has tilt issues.

Worry about improving your game....

Although, I like the idea of trying to tilt someone by poking fun at their pic.. I dont think I could bring myself to do it but, hey.. its a fair way to possibly gain an edge.

The choice of images is a reflection of the psychological profile of the people who frequent those sites. If most users choose to place a certain type of picture, that means that most users want to see those pictures.

I hope I do not sound confrontational for what I am about to say, but I don't know how else to say it. Perhaps if you do not want to see those pictures, perhaps it is not the site for you. Perhaps you can find another site that attracts more people with your taste.

I personally do want to see those pictures. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to be at a table where the majority of players have apparently decided "Gee, I guess I'll post a picture of my dog (kid). " maybe I'm too simplistic, but it just seems that the number of really sharp players with such avatars is pretty low.
