I think your FE is actually a ton greater on the turn if you bet 14-16, and I check/fold the river. He'll never believe you have a Q here.

I'm not trying to rep a Q.

Even if villain has a suspicion that you're double barreling turn there are still a lot of hands in your range that the Q on the river helps, he still has to include a top pair hand in your river range at least some % of the time (that is, if villain isn't a drooler)

I like your line.

id consider checking the flop.

check raising all in on the river way it was played is a viable alternate.

however, really, this is ok

Yeah. I think checking the flop is probably best against an unknown.

No it's not. He checks back way way way too often with hands that he's folding if we bet.

The problem here is that I would guess that he has 6 (with biggish kicker), or an OESD or a flush draw. If he is even slightly competent he will realise that it is unlikely that you hit that board and so will probably float you. In any event, I dont see the point of your 3rd barrel. It is only being called by hands that beat you and it is likely that he will call this bet, even with a 6 or a medium pocket pair such as 8's or 9's. If he was drawing then it missed and he will not likely bet the river. If you check he will prolly check behind and you will win with ace high. If you think he may try a bluff on river after missing the draw then why not put put a smaller bet rather than a $33 bet into a $40 pot??

What i would like to know is what hand are you representing here? You should never fire barrels or bluff unless you are representing a hand and you think it is clear to the opponent what you are representing.

I like it... It's not so much about repping the Q. He calls on the flop with his 5 or 6 or 7, then calls on the turn thinking hes just betting the scare card... if he bets the river then I know I'm beat...

I think he folds here a ton and I do this regularly

Yes I would like it alot more if it including a read and not an unknown. Who says we aren't up against a huge donk who would call river with 95o? =\
