Is this routine any good to achieve my goals?
Hi all,
I have let myself go a bit, and need to get into shape again. I want to work on my arms, chest and gut, and need to lose about 7 kilos of weight. So, I went to www.bodybuilding.com, thinking about doing the following, all at home with dumbells: 2 x arms, 3 x chest (one upper, one middle and one lower chest). These routines will also help me get my shoulders and triceps toned again. After this, push ups (3x15) and crunches on this big ball I have. Finish with 30 mins cardio. This 3 times a week, with once a week an extra cardio session of 45 mins added. Any thoughts? |

Re: Is this routine any good to achieve my goals?
Just about anything you do to make regularly scheduled exercise part of your routine, as long as you start slow and carefully, will likely be a very positive step.
As for your goals, your "gut" is a matter of diet, and I think that chest/arms focus is a bit narrow. Over and over again it seems to me that good programs start with something below the waist-- it is where you simultaneously stimulate several major muscle groups at once. Squats, dead lifts, lunges, something. Good luck. |
