I like the flop check if it fits with the game flow. You get more value out of hands you beat quite often, and lose less other times.

I think you can raise the river and fold to a push -- it's an ugly card though, completing a lot of draws that might have semi-bluffed the turn. I don't mind the call either, because villain's usually got something fairly nice -- 2pr or better. But he's calling with a lot of those as well because your line looks odd.
