Default (razz) Beautiful hand

I'm fairly proud of this one; the stars kind of aligned for me here. I think 6th might be a call, although I was thinking Seat 1 could have 8-7 or possibly a 9 here. Possibly Seat 6 would have called if I'd simply called. Comments on any street?

When he calls sixth and checks the river, this is just about the easiest value bet ever. If he had you beat on sixth, he had you board-locked, so you would have found out about it.

Hmm, that doesn't seem true. Villain could have 86432 and the best hand hero could have on 6th is 8632a. On the river villain could have hero beat with 864 and there are still a bajillion hands that beat him because hero could have a better 8, a 7, or a 6.

The pot is 32bb, villain never folds to a bet. Also hero is first to act on 7th.

[/ QUOTE ]

Small comment: Hero's not first to act on 7th, I was checked to. I figured opp wasn't folding, and since I hadn't improved, was worried about check-raise, that player seemed like the type to do that.

Yeah I got pieces of your hand and villians mixed up when looking at the hands. I thought you had the low board.

I think 6th might be a call, although I was thinking Seat 1 could have 8-7 or possibly a 9 here.

[/ QUOTE ]

How could he have 87 or a 9? He can see your 865, so I would usually assume his bet means he can beat that. It's also possible he has the best possible 865, but then you would only be tied. What is weird though, is if he beating or has the best 865, why didn't he then reraise?

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]
I'd consider that very possible if he had two smalls in the hole. Although he's drawing dead, he might be willing to take a chance he's not for the 30:1 immediate he's getting.

This is at .25/.50. There are a lot of players at this level who will bet out almost literally every time that they open a betting round, because they've been taught (or they think they've been taught) that aggressive play is winning play.

Lemme guess. You had 8652A (that's not the guess) and he had 86532?

Interestingly, no. I lost, 8652A to 7654A. I'm still fairly proud of this hand, but he beat me on 7th.

Then you're darn lucky he just checked his 7 on the end. I would attribute this weak play to 'microstakes' except I have seen players at mid-hi limits check a 6 on the river with a boardlock and others bet a QJ (now a perfect Q I could see!)
