I have hired over 30 bev cart girls in my career. The difference between the very best and just good are the following (in exact order)

1. Know how many drinks a player wants per 9 holes and supply them

2. Answer questions and talk in coherent intelligent sentences (not bimbo speak) This will help you gain respect and if they respect you they will treat you better

3. Look nice/ look alert/ look interested in doing a good job

4. Respect your supervisors and don't act like you are more important than your co-workers (they in turn will say nice things about you to the players)

5. Get out of your cart right away when you get to a group that would like something- you are in the service industry and attentiveness is rewarded

6. Do not put yourself in a position that makes you look slutty (flirting too much), this is the biggest mistake bev cart girls aged 18-20 make.

Some tips that your supervisors should tell you:
Never hold up play

Never serve in the middle of the fairway if someone is waiting behind them or when the group is on the green

Restock the walk-in cooler after your shift

Ask your supervisor if anything else needs to be done before you leave for the day


It is easy to build animosity with your co-workers due to the fact they perceive you as "window dressing" making a pile "o"cash, show them you are a team player.
