Sometimes i'll call a small raise and try to flop a set with a hand like this, but not for 10% of my stack.

As far as the post-flop carnage goes, I am only comfortable with stacking off on the flop here. CRAI is in my arsenal, but only for emergencies and only if I've sat back and watched villain cbet every hand he's ever bet in every poker game he's ever played.

I think i'd fold this almost every time in the face of MP2s raise and MP3s call.

I'd call because of the same reasons. All we have to do is hit a set, the rest of the money's going in and OOP with two to act behind is probably the easiest way to play these hands.

The thing with set mining is to look for situations where the 1:10 rule can be varied. Sometimes, it's hard to get paid off when we hit, sometimes we don't have to hit to take the pot. With these stack sizes and our position and the pf action, we have to hit but we're going to double up when we do most of the time and often get somewhat more.

It still might be -EV to call but the risk reward is well worth it IMO.

Once you miss, fold obviously.
