AK 4bet shove to isolate preflop with 2 to act behind me. You like?
Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)
SB: $24.00 BB: $336.35 Hero (UTG): $300.75 MP: $203.70 CO: $256.00 BTN: $238.40 Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) Hero raises to $8.00, MP calls $8.00, CO calls $8.00, BTN folds, SB raises to $23.00, BB folds, Hero raises all-in to $300.75, Two players behind to act with full stacks. Do you guys think this is a +ev play? The two guys behind me show these stats: 20/13/1.6 and 26/15/1.5 The short stack who raised is a huge donk and was just donating money to the table. I wanted to isolate him but I didn't want to just call and play a big pot oop. I think if the guys behind me had KK or AA they would have raised. They were playing tag the whole time. |

Standard, the 2 guys behind you with full stacks would have 3 bet you with 1010+ AK-AQ,

Re: AK 4bet shove to isolate preflop with 2 to act behind me. You like?
I'm worried that the math might not work out in my favor..
There's always a chance that one of the two guys behind me called with AA KK and would have called my shove. So sometimes I'm a huge underdog and will likely lose my stack, and the rest of the time I'm winning only a small pot. |

its not THAT small of a pot. by the time you shove, you're picking up almost $50.
looks good to me. |

I would prefer a $65 reraise. |

You might as well turn your hand face up though. But then with the dead $50 you're getting the odds if a smaller pair is gonna call you anyway so you're safe if there's no AA/KK.

This looks good, just because mp and co only called your initial raise preflop, I can't possibly imagine them having anything good enough to call a shove with.
Unless it was a very rare instance wehre mp knew that co was very aggro and liked to squeeze at any given opportunity so he only called you in hopes of CO squeezing so he could shove. But you'd need some pretty strong reads to factor that into your decision, and that's the only situation where I can picture shoving here actually being bad. |
