Default Commerce Casino No -Limit

Played the 330 no-limit tournament Tuesday night I was out 77 out of 600 plus. The limits were at 300-600 blinds with a 75 ante. I took a gamble on a A of club Q of heart and 8 of heart board. I was on the big blind with the A, 3 of hearts. I roughly had 16000 in chips. It was a three way pot. All three players were in the same chip range. The action started with a 1200 preflop raise. We saw a flop and I had checked hoping for a free card. The initial raiser sitting to my left checked and the last person to act on the button bets out 2000. I was hoping to try to get him off the hand. No luck whatsoever as he called my all in bet. This guy had me covered and had called off the rest of his chips with a set of eights. Two blanks came and I was out.
Question - Did I overplay my hand considereing the amount of chips I had at that level. I could have easily sat back and played small pot poker easing into 45 players making the money. Any suggestions on this hand is welcomed.

ths is the dream flop for your hand...find a way to get it in on the flop and live with the results...don't post results also and you can get cleaner advice

Try using those neat little things at the bottom of your text that allow you to post suits and flops and such.

Also, get it in on the flop. This is results orientated - I can smell it because it's written like a page from a diary and it has "blanks" in the last paragraph.

if you don't want to play Ah3h, then don't call a raise with it. However, fortune smiled upon you temporarily and gave you a wonderful flop, so why aren't you going to play it now? Weak kicker? C'mon...

I am now thinking of tournament strategy. I think if I had 7 or 8000. I think this would be the appropiate play. Risking all my chips at this time was unecessary. Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

Do you realize that the people that responded to your hand said the exact opposite of what you just did?

It doesn't really matter what kind of strategy your thinking about. Unless your about 150bb's deep, you need to get the money in here everytime. Risking all of your chips at this time is VERY standard and VERY necessary in order to win tournaments.

Thanks for your comments. If the player who bet 2000 on the flop had pushed all in on the flop. I would fold my hand. The 2000 stab at the pot is what got me to go all in. Thanks again.

Better yet a 2000 call would have been nice. I would've lost approximately 4000 on that hand. Less risk and a fair good gamble.
